Enrollment Up 10% at FSU, attributed to on-line degree program

I’m not sure that I buy the argument in this article, that the increase in enrollment at Florida State University’s Panama City Campus is due to their on-line CS degree program. I’m hearing about double-digit percentage increases at several campuses, a natural outcome of the recession. I found more interesting that FSU has an ABET-accredited on-line CS degree. I’d like to hear how the degree works out, e.g., how many students complete the degree compared to the face-to-face degree program?
An increased interest in online degree programs in Computer Science has contributed to the enrollment increase. The Computer Science B.S. program offered by FSU Panama City is one of only a small number of online programs in the nation that is ABET accredited. ABET, Inc. is the nation’s leading accrediting organization for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. An online Computer Science B.A. degree is also available.
